Remedial Conservation

We undertake a full range of conservation treatments to clean, stabilize and repair both historic and modern materials. As members of the Canadian Association for Conservation (CAC) all treatments comply with the Code of Ethics of the CAC.

OBJECT CONSERVATION
After examining the object, we supply a detailed condition assessment and estimate for the proposed conservation treatment. Work is usually charged at an hourly rate. We can work on site, however, detailed treatments are normally undertaken in our studio. Condition and conservation process is recorded in a written report, including photography.

MUSEUMS & HISTORIC HOUSES
Public institutions and corporate collections use our services to maintain their objects and historic interiors. Work on Designated Historic Sites conforms to the requirements of the Department of the Environment Standards & Guidelines for Conservation of Historic Places in Canada.

PRIVATE INDIVIDUALS
Personal items are given the same care and attention as museum based objects. We regularly conserve heirlooms such as wooden and metal toys, dolls and doll houses, embroidered samplers, christening gowns, and vintage fashion.

Family History. We also preserve photographs, papers, albums and scrapbooks.
